7/27/02 -Lisa and Denis

Our August 1 trip began with Lisa practicing to cast on a lake, in the back yard and finally on my boat. We started out with heavy tackle, then the right stuff. I put a small lead head with a channel Island chovy. She casted beautifully. After the third cast, she said she hooked something. Sure enough, a Sand Bass. Unfortunately, i didn't have the camera... 

The reason Lee was on the boat was to help  me repair my Trim Tabs. What an amazing person jumping in to help, watching what I was doing, anticipating what needed to be done and trying to help. At one point I couldn't reach a wire below, trying to work through a hatch opening about 12"x16". Lee reached in, then pushed her head and body into the opening. I couldn't believe it. Wished I had my camera for that one, but I will never forget that image.

I did get the trim tabs fixed, thanks to Lee's help. What a wonderful day.
